Study & Practice law in UK: How to choose the right law degree?

In most of the countries law degrees are awarded in the form of LL.B, which is generally a three year course after graduation. However, in India in addition to the three year law degree program, there is a Five Year integrated law degree offered generally at National Law Schools. In order to get enrolled for Five Year integrated law degree program one has to complete his twelfth standard and has to qualify the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

This is one of the most important question one candidate should ask himself. Studying law degree is one of the important thing. Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela are some of the famous lawyers in the world.

However, the question is where to study law? Most of the students are confused in choosing the right law school for their studies. Thus, it is always recommended to conduct a research on various law schools in Europe and the courses offered by them.

Practice law in UK?

Are you planning to practice law in England or United Kingdom and are you a foreign national possessing a law degree duly recognized by the respective universities in your country.

As we know overseas law degrees do not automatically give foreign nationals the ability to qualify as a solicitor or barrister in the United Kingdom. Thus most of the candidates who are planning to practice law in UK generally enroll for an LLM or postgraduate degree, followed by the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC).
