Job Description
- Evaluate the impact of evolving legal and statutory regulations on the organization’s current and proposed operations and investments and highlight the same and contribute to the business planning process
- Provide Organization with strategic and legal advice for policy formulation and proactively manage legal risks
- Guide the organization in interpretation of laws regarding all aspects of business and corporate life including construction laws and regulations applicable to the business
- Stay abreast with all legal rules and regulations of the state government, central government, local government or other related institutions and associations.
- Review the legal implications of proposals made by business development
- Preparation, negotiation and review of legal agreements governing commercial relationships with third parties with whom the company has dealings. This covers a wide variety of different legal agreements.
- Scrutiny and verification of documents for purchase/acquisition of land / properties.
- Should have knowledge of consultancy agreements, joint ventures, Acquisitions, Agreements with vendors report on Title Documents.
- Providing corporate commercial legal advice with a primary focus on negotiating and structuring commercial transactions; drafting and reviewing contracts and other commercial agreements.
- Providing legal and regulatory support in all of the diverse areas of business such as aviation; technology distribution; technology development.
- Manage and work in close coordination with external counsel.
- Prepare and process legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements
- Handle all litigation and non – litigation matters, Arbitration Petitions, filed by or against the Company. To interact & coordinate with Lawyers / Solicitors in the process of legal proceedings in various Courts.
- Drafting & Vetting all kinds of Agreements, Contracts, MoUs, LOI, Tender Documentation, Bank Guarantees, Term Sheets, NDAs, Shareholders Agreements.
- Carrying of legal research and keeping up to date with changing notions and national & international Laws through various legal Journals published periodically in the relevant area of work.

- Thorough knowledge of Court practices, Arbitration proceedings, Conducting and attending the Court Cases in Honorable Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Consumer Forum, Company Law Board & other National and International Forums.
- Drafting various types of Property Deeds / Drafting of confidentiality agreements.
- Provide strategic legal advice and act proactively as required to minimize legal risks faced by the company.
- Represent the company at briefings in legal matters, Deal with and manage correspondence with regulatory and other governmental authorities in connection with company business.
- Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team’s capabilities and build a strong succession pipeline for the role.
Desired Skills and Experience
- LLB/LLM with 25 years of work experience in leading corporate law firms in India or in a diversified multinational corporation or multinational legal consulting organizations. Candidate should be LLB/LLM from a premier Law College.
- Good experience and exposure in handling regulatory affairs and legal matters in the power sector. Experience of having worked in an Electricity Regulation Commission or extensive liaison with such commissions, Should have handled short term open access permissions for Inter-State trade of power.
- Up to date knowledge of Regulatory Law, Strategic law, Regulatory matter, service matter, Litigation, Settlements, Consumer matters, legal strategy, drafting, processing & Regulations, Licenses, Writ petitions, should have experience in Securities & Financial Laws, Banking Laws, Corporate & Commercial Laws.
