Bail application of DP Yadav rejected by Uttarakhand High Court

While hearing the application the double bench of Uttarakhand High Court comprising Justice Sudhansu Dhulia and Justice SK Gupta ‘out rightly rejected’ the has rejected bail application of controversial Uttar Pradesh politician DP Yadav and his associate Praneet Bhati.

It was a case where, Yadav and his associates were sentenced to life behind bars on 10th March this year by a special CBI court of Dehradun for the murder of Ghaziabad MLA Mahendra Bhati, 23 years ago.

Bhati and his friend Udai Prakash Arya were gunned down by armed assailants on September 13, 1992, at the Dadri railway crossing. Another person, O P Kayal, was injured in the ambush. D P Yadav was the MLA from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh at that time.
