{"id":5736,"date":"2014-10-07T21:53:47","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T16:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lex-warrier.in\/?p=5736"},"modified":"2023-07-01T15:49:42","modified_gmt":"2023-07-01T15:49:42","slug":"laura-cha-shi-mei-lun-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lex-warrier.in\/archives\/laura-cha-shi-mei-lun-scholarship.html","title":{"rendered":"Laura Cha (Shi Mei Lun) Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This scholarship was established by Laura Cha, who is known in Mainland China by her Chinese name &#8220;Shi Mei Lun&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Laura Cha was appointed by the State Council of the Chinese Government as Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission in early 2001 and served in such post until 2004. She was the first person outside the Mainland to join the Chinese Government at the vice-ministerial rank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The funds for 2014 are to be confirmed. However in 2013\u00a0one\u00a0scholarship was awarded to the value of \u00a324,000. The scholarship\u00a0will be awarded on the basis of financial need.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The scholarship has been established for applicants intending to study on the\u00a0full-time LLM programme and who are Chinese and resident in China.\u00a0 Preference will be given to applicants from North-West China.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">How to apply<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To be considered for this scholarship, you must have completed the 2014\/15 LSE Graduate Financial Support Application form and\u00a0received an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) by 5pm 28 April 2014. You\u00a0<strong>must complete Section G &#8211; Personal Statement.<\/strong>\u00a0Complete Section G &#8211; Personal Statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you submit an application for admission to a taught master\u2019s programme, the Graduate Admissions Office will acknowledge your application and provide information\u00a0about\u00a0how to set up an LSE for You online account. This account will allow you to track the progress of your application for admission, and will provide you with access to the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application Form. The LSE Graduate Financial Support Application form will be available until 5pm 28 April 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selection for this scholarship will take place between May and July 2014 and we will notify the successful recipient(s) by the end of July 2014. If you have not heard from the Financial Support Office by the end of July 2014, you must assume your application has been unsuccessful. We will\u00a0notify successful applicants only.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.lse.ac.uk\/study\/graduate\/enquirer\/howToApply\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to apply<\/a>\u00a0for admission<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.lse.ac.uk\/study\/graduate\/applicant\/trackYourApplication.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tracking your application<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you complete the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application form, you will also be considered for support from the LSE\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.lse.ac.uk\/intranet\/students\/studentServicesCentre\/financialSupport\/ScholarshipsLSE\/MScApp\/GSS\/GSS.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Graduate Support Scheme<\/a>.
